Synergia is among the finalist companies for the 2021 Nana Mininni Medina Award , which aims to elect and award projects with the best practices in Formal Environmental Education and Non-Formal Environmental Education in Brazil.
The Rio Mangaraí Pilot Project competes in the Non-Formal Environmental Education category (Law 9.795/1999, article 13), dedicated to “educational practices aimed at raising awareness of the community about environmental issues and their organization and participation in the defense of the quality of the environment ”.
In 2020, Synergia was hired to carry out the Environmental Education and Social Mobilization project with a focus on female empowerment , coordinated by the Capixaba Institute for Research, Technical Assistance and Rural Extension (Incaper) . The project is part of the Integrated Water and Landscape Management Program (PGIAP), of the Government of the State of Espírito Santo.
The Nana Mininni Medina Award is part of the actions of the International Conference on Environmental Education – CIEducA, held by the Venturi Institute, which brings together important names in the environmental area , both from the public and private sectors .
The awards will be given during the closing ceremony of the Conference, on April 8 , at 12h , in the city of Bento Gonçalves (RS).
It is important to highlight that, according to the responsible organization, the indicated projects were considered excellent in view of their objectives, “methodology used, the scope of their activities, the public impacted and the results achieved”.
For Paula Raquel, project coordinator and Synergia representative at the awards ceremony, the project faced challenges and also stood out for the collaborative work that was developed to overcome this challenge:
“We are ecstatic! We had many challenges at the beginning of the project, as planning and executing work with communities requires physical presence and the pandemic imposed distancing. But with the technical skill and sensitivity of the team, we overcame the challenges and today we are finalists for this award. It is the celebration of a collaborative process at its core. We are happy and cheering for the result. Fingers crossed!”
