Furthermore, some of the actions developed by Synergia Socioambiental in Barcarena (PA) were presented. Among these, the Sustainable Barcarena Initiative (IBS), in which Synergia manages the Executive Secretariat, and the Estilo Barcarena project – aimed at enhancing local sewing, through the development of women in the area of haute couture. In addition to these, the Travessia Barcarena project which contributed to local families in situations of  socioeconomic vulnerability , worsened by the  covid-19 pandemic .

Miriam also showed how Synergia has strengthened its presence and the work carried out in the Amazon region over the last few years, whether through the evolution of the scope of services provided, the development of the Amazon Series and the production of the documentary “ The Forest You Don’t See – Narratives of the Middle Xingu ”.

For Adriana Barros, International Relations manager at Synergia, the VII International Congress of International Environmental Law was an opportunity for Synergia to present part of its long experience in the Amazon territory and dialogue with experts for an exchange of experience: “The debate around Environmental Governance in the Amazon becomes relevant due to the complexity of relationships between different actors, who have different knowledge and experiences, with different activities and interests.”

Furthermore, it was possible to highlight the positive impact of participatory methodologies : “The importance of democratic participatory processes, which consider the structured presence of various actors, such as the population and local community organizations , for development actions and projects in the region was evident in the panel. Without considering this premise, we will make little progress in sustainable development”, adds Adriana.
